As it is Men’s Health Week and Father’s Day today, we know laughter is a great medicine, so we thought we would spread a little love for Dads! We have put together a post all about our Dad, Steve, and all his funny habits and the general Dad things he does. So, have a read and maybe you can relate to some of these. And if not, maybe they’ll just give you a good giggle!
Cutting the grass
No matter what is going on in life, Dad always finds time to tend to the grass! The rate it grows does be stressing the man out…
Always being punctual
We don’t know if this is just our Dad or Dads in general, but he is always on time! We can’t ever remember a time he was late collecting us from school, and we’re always guaranteed to be hours early for our flight if we’re going on holiday.
Cups of tea
Thank god we stock mugs in our boxes, because we’re always guaranteed an ideal gift for Dad! He takes his tea very seriously, and we don’t blame him.
Chatting to random strangers
Honestly, we can’t take him anywhere! He always ends up chatting to new people for hours on end and 90% of the time it turns out they’re some connection to his hometown in England or our distant relatives in Meath.
Falling asleep on the couch by 8pm
And of course this is always followed by him muttering that the tv is too loud! This has to be a general Dad thing, and no doubt chucking a cushion at him is too!
Asking if we remember something from 1982
Dad always seems to forget that we weren’t alive when his favourite album was released or a celebrity was presenting his favourite show. “Ah you do know him!” No Dad, I was literally born in 1996… you of all people should know this!
Avoiding beating around the bush
Dad gives us a good day or so to wallow over a problem before giving us a good boot up the behind! And as annoying as it can be at the time, we wouldn’t change him for the world!
Playing tricks
Always young at heart, everyday is April fools Day with this guy. From silly Christmas presents to answering the phone with a funny voice, we must be alert at ALL times.
Doing impressions
If we ever have kids, no doubt they’ll be kept entertained by Dad’s Scooby-Doo impression! Honestly, it’s iconic. The man has definitely been perfecting it since childhood.
Inspiring us
Our biggest supporter and always having a light-hearted outlook when things seem to be going wrong, our Dad is a huge driving force behind the Vixi Gifting team because he keeps us inspired, motivated and believing we can achieve anything we set our mind to.
Aw Dad, we love ya. And from all your fab messages from the past few weeks, we know you love yours too!
Hope everybody has a magical Father’s Day.
Love,
The Vixi Gifting Team x
